CHOSEN CONFUSION

What does the term confound mean?  Answer: to perplex or amaze, esp. by a sudden disturbance or surprise; bewilder; confuse.  Another answer would be to throw into confusion or disorder.

"But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty” - 1 Corinthians 1:27

In the verse above we can see two different definitions for the word confound.  God has CHOSEN the "foolish" and "weak" things of the world to CONFOUND the "wise" and "the things which are mighty."  God's way of looking at things is so different than we see things.  Believe me, He knows best!  God uses things (foolish and weak) to mold us into His image.  There is often something that gets in the way. . .our pride (wise and things which are mighty).
